PRONUNCIAMIENTO OTORGACIÓN DE DERECHOS MINEROS EN AREAS PROTEGIDAS

El pasado 22 de junio del presente año (2021) el destino Turístico más importante de la Amazonia boliviana, Rurrenabaque Madidi Pampas, rechazó los derechos mineros auríferos en toda la cuenca de rio Tuichi así también como en la cuenca del rio Beni. Dado que el incremento desmedido de los derechos otorgados y los intentos de los operadores mineros de iniciar actividades exploratorias o productivas son un riesgo para todos los esfuerzos desarrollados para consolidar un Destino Turístico que pueda exponerse al mundo con el rótulo de sostenibilidad.
En todo caso, si se viabiliza el desarrollo de actividades mineras en las cuencas de los ríos Beni y Tuichi, se destruirían los principales atractivos turísticos que se tienen en la zona. Asimismo, estas actividades traerían como consecuencia un proceso genocida dentro de los pueblos indígenas vinculados estrechamente con el rio.
El destino aguarda esperanzas de reflexión por parte de las autoridades de una respuesta positiva a su solicitud.
